UMBC PhD student Ommo Clark featured in VoA Realities of Women in AI episode
The VoA Africa’s Our Voices program on the Realities of Women in Artificial Intelligence includes a seven-minute interview with Ommo Clark. Clark is a second-year PhD candidate in Information Systems at UMBC who is doing AI research with Professor Karuna Pande Joshi in the KNACC Lab.
Before beginning her PhD program, Ommo had an extensive career that included founding and leading iBez Nigeria, a company providing technology solutions to Nigerian communities' societal challenges.
The VoA panelists explored the concern that AI-powered technological advancements may worsen the digital divide between men and women and how to ensure an equitable digital future for all. The interview with Ommo starts at 10:10 in the video.
