AI Technical Meetup & Networking, 5-7pm June 13

The UMBC Training Centers will hold a Summer AI Meetup in Columbia, MD, on Thursday, June 13th, from 5 to 7 pm. The event will include networking with drinks and snacks included, two presentations, and time for questions and discussions.

Liam Echlin will present the capabilities of HuggingFace, a leading platform in the AI and machine learning community that simplifies the installation and integration of specific open-source models and datasets into your projects. Attendees will gain practical insights into leveraging these powerful tools to enhance their AI-driven applications efficiently.

Matt Archibald will explore the intersection of AI and critical thinking, emphasizing that while AI tools can enhance data collation, sorting, and summarization, they should never replace the essential cognitive functions of human analysts. Attendees will learn how to effectively harness AI tools while maintaining rigorous critical thinking to navigate the complexities of modern data analysis.
